The Essence
Each bowl has been hand-forged by Nepalese artisans who inherited the craft from generation to generation. Seven metals — copper, tin, zinc, iron, lead, gold, and silver — are melted into a sacred alloy that produces a sound with multiple harmonics that resonate at different frequencies of the body. When you gently strike it, the sound doesn't end: it expands, multiplies, becomes a vibration you can feel in your bones.
The Ritual
Place the bowl in your left palm. With the velvet-wrapped mallet, gently strike the outer rim. Close your eyes and follow the sound with your attention. When the sound fades, strike again. After three repetitions, begin to rotate the mallet around the rim of the bowl and listen as the sound grows, intensifies, becomes omnipresent. This is your sonic mantra.
